The Invader Creed:

"On my honor, I will try to do the best for my family and my community.  To help other team members at all times and to be a good sportsman"

The Waukegan Invaders is a 501c3 non-profit organization.  It consists of youth ages 4 - 18 years of age who cover a broad range of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.  We are a member of the Illinois Association of the USA Track and Field Organization (USATF).  The club participates in the various age group divisions and provides the opportunity for track athletes of all ages.  The team develops the athlete’s skill level to compete in USATF meets at the state, regional, and national levels.

Our athletes have placed and set records in various competitions in the state of Illinois, and have qualified to compete in the National Junior Olympics across the country. We target athletes who show potential and desire to be the best in their age group.  We also emphasize good sportsmanship, self-esteem and summer fun.

We measure our effectiveness on the sport by three components.  The first component measured is the athlete’s intellect.  We require our athletes to have satisfactory school grades in order to be a member on our team.  The next component measured is the athlete’s capability.  The athlete should exhibit a minimum skill, positive attitude and a supportive environment to learn his or her track and field event(s).  The final component measured is improvement during the course of the track and field season.  Our goal is to ensure that our athletes reach their maximum potential by the end of the season. Mission Statement:

The mission of the Waukegan Invaders Track Club is to offer every athlete the opportunity to better themselves physically, mentally and socially through their involvement in track and field. The team develops athletes between the ages 4 -18 to compete in the USATF meets at the state, regional and national level. We also emphasize good sportsmanship, self-esteem, honesty, academic, team work, and respect for others. It should be a positive experience for each athlete, parents and coaches. Each athlete should demonstrate a positive attitude, and take personal accountability and a desire for achievement while having fun. As they do, they will improve their performance on the track/field and develop the character that will make them successful throughout life. Our philosophy is to create a positive competitive and character driven program for track and field and hope that each athlete will remember how their experience in Track and Field made them a competitor on and off the field.
